At Appalachian Community Services, we are looking for compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) team. As a BHUC LPN, you will provide essential crisis care, assist individuals through critical moments, and deliver client-centered, solution-focused nursing support. Requirements
- Graduated from an Approved Nursing Program
- Active LPN Licensure through the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and crisis intervention.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a crisis setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within the BHUC team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct telephonic screenings to assess appropriateness for admission.
- Perform nursing screenings upon arrival, including pregnancy tests, urine drug screens, and breathalyzers.
- Collaborate with prescribers to review clinical information and determine medication needs or alternative care options.
- Prepare, administer, and monitor prescribed medications.
- Provide ongoing medical oversight throughout an individual’s stay.
