The Norfolk community Services Board (NCSB) provides treatment, support, and education to the community with a focus on mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. Norfolk CSB provides services to persons in acute crisis as well as integrated, person -centered, and recovery-oriented programming for persons needing assistance and support stabilizing in the community. Today, the NCSB provides treatment and rehabilitation services to over 6,000 Norfolk citizens yearly. The Norfolk CSB seeks team members interested in providing skilled services in a public service environment and dedicated to supporting a positive work and treatment environment. The NCSB is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing support for the NCSB Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. The LPN will complete a number of competing work priorities in a time-restricted environment. Works with a challenging population of patients, from diverse backgrounds with varying degrees of life stress and comorbid medical and psychiatric conditions. Provided care to patients with co-occurring developmental disabilities and substance use disorders. The LPN will work primarily in an office setting; however, may provide some services in the community. The LPN will be assigned to a primary program but will be expected to provide nursing services to other programs of the agency, as required. The LPN position is vital for the daily operations in the Norfolk ACT Team. This will be used for daily medication rounds, working in the clinic doing medical assessments, vital signs, and injections, and ordering and packing medications.
