Associate’s degree in physical therapy, Licensure by the State of Florida as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Outpatient Rehabilitation Services are provided at multiple off campus locations and include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology services for patients across the life span (Pediatric and Adult). The goal of rehabilitation services is to increase the functional independence of our patients and improve their quality of life through state of the art, evidence-based practices. PTA will be part of an Interdisciplinary team of PT, OT and SLP’s providing world class evidence-based care to patients. Caseload will include patients with a wide range of diagnoses including neurologic and orthopedic conditions, but PTA may be expected to work with some patients from other diagnostic categories to meet the operational needs of the department. Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrate competency in all clinical knowledge and skills specific to the patient population In collaboration with patient and /or family member implements individualized treatment plans for each patient Collaborate within discipline and team members of other disciplines to optimize patient care Manages patient caseload and Documentation to department guidelines Stays current with evidence-based practice through professional development activities as appropriate to caseload Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain relationships with patients, physicians and other referral sources Active participation in team meetings Performs all other duties as assigned
