The Laurel at Vernon Hills Memory Care, located in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking a professional and dedicated Licensed Nurse to ensure quality nursing care is provided to the residents in our community. Responsibilities of the Licensed Nurse Exhibits leadership qualities and communicates professionally with employees, residents, family members, responsible parties, and other healthcare professionals. In conjunction with the Health and Wellness Director, establish an appropriate level of care for the residents, based on individualized care needs. Perform assessments of residents and identify needs related to the physiological, psychological, environmental, and social needs upon move in and when a change of condition has occurred. Monitor the 24-hour communications and alert system for compliance. Appropriately and timely assess residents who have been put on alert status. Remove residents from alert after appropriate assessment of their condition. Collect and analyze pertinent health related information. Investigate and document incidents and behavior changes that require a licensed nurse assessment. Implement plan of care formulated by physician and Health and Wellness Director. Utilize safe and appropriate techniques/nursing skills in providing resident care. Communicate with staff regarding changes in resident’s care needs. Participate in staff development activities. Become knowledgeable of state regulations governing assisted living communities. Assist in daily requirements and tasks as requested. Ensure residents are provided with privacy, respect, and dignity. Follows standard precautions and infection control procedures. Completes state required training upon hire and annually. Join Our Team & Earn a $500 Bonus ! Requirements
- Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A current license in the state of employment.
- A minimum of one (1) year prior nursing experience in a senior living community or related business preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in the English language.
- Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by state regulations.
- All candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check and a comprehensive reference check.
