About The Position

Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC, LMSW, LISW, LMHT) Berryhill Center $7,500 Sign-on Bonus Responsible for completing psychosocial assessments, leading one on one and group therapy within a behavioral health space in accordance with evidence-based practices. Assesses patient needs based upon a face-to-face clinical interview, case history review and information obtained from collateral sources such as family members, the referent or other parties. Develops and implements an appropriate treatment plan of care for the patient based upon relevant clinical information and diagnosis. Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field from an accredited school required
  • Licensure: Licensed as an LMSW, LISW, LMFT, PsyD in the State of Iowa required
  • Experience: A minimum of two years previous counseling experience in Behavioral Health preferred, but not required.
  • Skills/Abilities: Good communication skills, Knowledge and experience in good interviewing techniques.
  • Ability to understand medical terminology and communicate effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds, age, disabilities, and education levels required.
  • Individual must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide services to the child, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric population.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: A minimum of two years previous counseling experience in Behavioral Health preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients, families, and community agencies representatives to obtain a comprehensive mental health evaluation and makes appropriate treatment recommendations
  • Responsible for providing individual, couple, family and group services to meet patient and their family/significant others’ social and emotional needs.
  • Provides immediate intervention including supportive counseling to patient/family/significant other in dealing with impact of an emergency situation.
  • Documents evaluations and ongoing services for patient's medical record in a time l y manner.
  • Works cooperatively with referral agencies i n coordinating services.
  • Facilitate support groups for behavioral health as needed.
  • Prov i des in-services to the community as requested.
  • Participates in educational activities, performance improvement activities, Center committees, and other related activities when requested.
  • Demonstra tes behaviors that support MHC and THS goals/objectives/vis ion.
  • Attends and participates in Interdisciplinary Team ( I DT) meetings.
  • Assists with development and implementation of new programs within Behavioral Health area.
