About The Position

The Electrician is responsible for overseeing and managing the electrical installation and maintenance activities on utility-scale solar construction sites. This role may involve supervising a team of electricians and/or construction laborers, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and coordinating with other site supervisors to ensure the timely and efficient completion of the project. MUST BE LICENSED IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA.

Requirements

  • License: Must have electrician license in the state of Virginia
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in solar or renewable energy projects.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical work is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics, and a solid understanding of electrical codes and standards.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking across uneven terrain.
  • Climbing: Climbing ladders and scaffolding to access different parts of the installation.
  • Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to install and inspect components.
  • Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling tools and small components.
  • Weather Conditions: Working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Safety Gear: Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of electricians or construction laborers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and project progress.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and inspect electrical installations to ensure they meet project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain work schedules, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, progress reports, and material usage.
  • Communication: Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns.
