About The Position

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of drilling experience in a mining or similar industrial environment, with strong knowledge of limestone formations, rock characteristics, and quarry operations. The role requires basic computer proficiency, solid math skills, the ability to work effectively in a high-performance team environment, and the capability to perform all duties required of the blaster in charge. What you will do: Under the supervision of the Raw Materials Manager and/or Mining Engineer, the Driller performs drilling and blasting operations in plant and off-plant locations while supporting explosive handling duties. This role is responsible for meeting daily drilling footage to support production, operating and maintaining quarry and mobile equipment, conducting preventive maintenance inspections, and maintaining accurate drilling, fuel, and blasting records. The Driller also assists with quarry face inspection, overburden removal, reclamation activities, and reports conditions impacting blast quality, while ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations, safety policies, and environmental procedures, and operating all quarry equipment as needed. Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, sitting, climbing in and out of equipment, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and frequently climbing truck ladders. The role involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and loading materials up to 50 pounds, with occasional lateral pushing and handling of additives. Candidates must be able to operate heavy equipment components, including opening truck hoods weighing up to 35 pounds, and must hold a valid Blaster’s License and a Class B CDL with hazardous materials endorsement.
