About The Position

Licensed Dietitian opportunity is part-time and offers daytime hours. Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland. Requirements

  • Must be a licensed dietitian in the State of Delaware.
  • Two (2) years of related experience, at least one (1) year of clinical setting experience preferred.
  • CPR certification and Completion of Handle with Care training within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified diabetes educator preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze medical records and/or patient face-to-face interview for hospitalized patients utilizing specialized knowledge and skills.
  • Document findings, actions and summary assessments while following up on diet instructions and comprehension in DCH electronic medical record system.
  • Educate and council patients of all ages including caregivers on modifications of diet required for continued recovery.
  • Review and modify patient room service meal selections as needed being sure to communicate with Food and Nutrition Departments and providers.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team patient rounds.
  • Provides information to the medical team, including doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and pharmacists.
  • Must be available when needed to perform assessment and document individualized care plans using remote computer access during off hours.
