About The Position

Services for children and youth who have neurodevelopmental disabilities (i.e. autism, intellectual disability, genetic and chromosomal syndromes, etc.) are central to Kennedy Krieger's mission. We are seeking applicants who have interest and experience with these populations to learn and apply cutting edge clinical interventions for posttraumatic stress.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Certified Social Worker- Clinical (LCSW-C).
  • Must possess and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited School of Social Work required.
  • Minimum two years of licensed clinical experience related to treating children and families with traumatic exposures and associated emotional and behavioral disturbances required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical social work services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families, through individual, group, or family modalities.
  • Conduct evaluations, including diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate treatment modality.
  • Collaborate with the referring agency to assist them in utilizing the evaluation/treatment services in the development of the service plan for the child and the family.
  • Collaborate with the school system to assure that the children are receiving appropriate educational services, if indicated.
  • Participate in peer consultation groups and/or individual supervision for the purpose of review of clinical work.
  • Attend in-service clinical training programs, treatment planning meeting, and necessary administrative meetings.
  • Maintain client activity at the projected level set by the administrative staff.
  • Maintain the medical record for each client seen which includes a treatment plan and diagnostic interview at the initiation of therapy, weekly progress notes, periodic reviews, and termination summary.
  • May participate in the field instruction program and supervise social work trainees when interest and capacity are demonstrated.
  • May participate in specialized clinics focused on particular conditions or treatments
