About The Position

We handle matters ranging from negotiated resolutions to active litigation, and we value attorneys who combine sound legal judgment with emotional intelligence. The role is designed for a developing litigator who wants meaningful courtroom exposure while still maintaining flexibility and balance. This role includes a performance-driven compensation model designed to reward productivity and initiative. In addition to a competitive base salary, associates participate in an uncapped bonus program tied directly to billable work and collections.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years courtroom experience in matrimonial or family law
  • Admitted to the Connecticut Bar (required)
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and billable expectations independently
  • Comfortable working directly with clients in emotionally complex situations
  • Interest in developing litigation competency and long-term practice growth
  • Demonstrates a confident and composed courtroom presence
  • Exhibits thoughtful and effective negotiation judgment
  • Works collaboratively within a team-based legal environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned matrimonial caseload from commencement through settlement or trial
  • Conduct court appearances, conferences, and evidentiary hearings
  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, and settlement agreements
  • Participate in negotiation and mediation strategy
  • Advise clients with professionalism, discretion, and clarity during emotionally sensitive matters
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing entries
  • Collaborate with the litigation team while maintaining ownership of assigned files
  • Utilize firm technology systems for case management and workflow efficiency
