About The Position

The Illinois Racing Board is looking to hire a License Clerk. This position will be  responsible for processing a variety of occupational licenses and registrations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper financial reconciliation. The role supports the integrity of licensing operations by verifying documentation, maintaining organized records, and ensuring all racing participants meet regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school.
• Requires a minimum of two years of experience using Microsoft Office or equivalent word and spreadsheet processing software.
• Minimum of one year of office administrative experience.
• Ability to travel to all locations under jurisdiction of Illinois Racing Board.
• Employee and members of household must not hold or have held a license issued by the Illinois Racing Board, or have an economic interest in a license holder within the previous 12 months.

Nice To Haves

• Prefers college degree or equivalent.
• Prefers minimum of one year of fingerprinting experience.
• Prefers minimum of one year processing license applications for a governmental entity.
• Prefers minimum of one year processing license applications for a governmental entity.

Responsibilities

• Process occupational licenses, registration of partnerships, stables, corporations, and estates and trusts by verifying all required information is filled out and properly completed.
• Reconcile monies received against monies recorded in the licensing database to ensure all money balances.
• Check the daily racing program to ensure all participants have a current, valid license to race.
• Obtain fingerprints from new licensees and renewals with expired fingerprints.
• File processed license applications in alphabetic order by date licensed. Run License Detail reports, review, and ensure all applications are on file.
• Performs other duties as required and reasonably within the scope of the above duties.
