About The Position

Provide computer and information technology support via phone and in person at Walker Library during the workday, on weekends, and until 2 am as needed. The computing environment includes servers, multiple OS platforms, classroom systems, and discipline-specific equipment and software. Essential tasks include installation, configuration, diagnosis, and repair of software and hardware issues; remain current on technology trends, tools, and support methods for new technologies adopted for use within the Library public spaces, specialized labs, and classrooms; document support interactions in campus all tracking software; assist, supervise, and train student workers in Library Technology Services (LTS); monitor and verify LTS student hours worked and submit for payroll; perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned. PLEASE NOTE: Work schedule is Sunday – Thursday 3:45pm - 12:15am.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related area required.
  • Three (3) years extensive experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computers (both PC and Macintosh) and peripherals.
  • Experience should include the installation, service, and support of Windows 10 and 11 as well as macOS.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior library experience preferred.
  • Experience with purchasing technology and account reconciliation preferred.
  • Experience with installation, service, and support of instructional technology and audio/visual systems preferred.
