About The Position

The candidate will perform the daily operations and supervision of the school library along with facilitating access to the information and resources within the library while monitoring student study hall attendance and conduct.

Requirements

  • Strong Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Both the ability and willingness to work with students, dorm staff, faculty and co-workers.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite programs (Gmail, Drive, Docs Sheets, etc).
  • Experience in an active academic environment and familiarity with the basic academic requirements of the school.
  • While administrative supervision and direction will be provided, the individual should be self-motivated, with good critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to pass a background check as you are working in a school setting.
  • The position requires occasional lifting / carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs and less frequently up to 50 lbs, with assistance.
  • This position may rarely be asked to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidelines communicated, work to provide an environment that is conducive to study and learning.
  • Maintain general cleanliness and physical order of the library, reporting needs to custodial or maintenance departments when appropriate.
  • Report study hall status and issues to the Dean of Girls as requested or necessary.
  • Organize all library resouces so they are easy to locate and utilize.
  • Check books in and out, including processing and collecting late fees.
  • Other duties as assigned, based upon the needs of the school or department.
