About The Position

Support the daily operation of the high school library Assist students with use of digital resources, locating books/periodicals, and research materials Supervise students before, during, and after school as assigned Take student attendance each classroom period Use the Destiny Library Management program for circulation of library materials Charge and discharge library materials, collect fines Maintain an orderly, welcoming, and student centered library space Other tasks as assigned by the Head of School or Director of Learning and Information Technology

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years' college OR evidence of having passed the CT ParaPro Examination
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to interact with students and staff in courteous and helpful manner and to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team, following direction set by others
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and workload prioritization skills are required
  • Must be flexible, creative, have a good sense of humor, work well under pressure and demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity/willingness to learn computer word processing and Google Suite for Education
