Provides specialized, in-depth services to Library patrons by responding to inquiries and providing requested library information resources utilizing a variety of electronic and print resources. Works collaboratively within the department to determine appropriate approaches to preparing collections for use. Processes manuscript collections utilizing established standards and best practices. Performs research and records the origin and historical significance of unique collections and archival materials seeking information from various sources with a critical eye. Assists in the development of Special Collections & University Archives policies, procedures, and workflows. Assists with inventory control and development of finding aids within the library’s archival content management system, ArchivEra. Assists with historical research and media inquiries from patrons and staff. Works Reading Room desk shifts and provides front-line assistance for students, faculty, staff, and other patrons. May serve as a Special Collections & University representative to the appropriate library working groups, such as Digital Initiatives or Collection Development. May shadow the Coordinator of Special Collections & University Archives in their day-to-day responsibilities. May serve on library, university, or professional committees. Performs other duties as assigned.
