Library Experience Officer
About The Position
As a Library Experience Officer, you will be an integral part of the Library’s Frontline Services team at Monash University. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that the library spaces and services are welcoming and inclusive for all users, including students, staff, Alumni, and visitors, across various shifts (day, afternoon, night, and weekends). You will deliver excellent customer service, assist with access to both print and online library collections, address and report facilities issues, and maintain a safe and well-kept environment. Additionally, you will collaborate with other Library staff to develop and execute events aimed at fostering student inclusion and engagement, striving to surpass user expectations. This role requires flexibility to work rostered shifts on weekdays between 7:45 am and 6 pm to meet the Library's service delivery demands.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the libraries are welcoming and safe spaces
- Monitoring and responding to reports of building and maintenance faults
- Providing general direction to Library Experience Assistants, particularly on weekends and evenings
- Collaborating with other library colleagues, to the design, delivery, and evaluation of user experience programs supporting inclusion and belonging in the Library
- Responding to, answering, and referring enquiries from library users
