About The Position

Performs general duties related to the circulation of library materials: Attends to the circulation desk, greets patrons and assists with requests; check in/out library materials; collects fees Assists patrons with book searches, downloading materials, computer searches, and self-check services. Provides patrons with basic reference and reader's advisory service; produces displays of books and other library materials for the encouragement of patron involvement. Answers phones and provides routine information and transfers calls. Pulls and processes hold materials. Projects a positive and pleasant attitude to the public and cooperates and maintains an effective relationship with other staff members as part of a team. Create book displays and reading lists for patrons.

Requirements

Graduation from high school
Ability to perform general clerical functions quickly and accurately
Understand written and oral instructions and work independently in carrying out work assignments
Good typing skills with accuracy
Good working relations with others
Must pass drug test before hire
Employment in this position is conditional upon passing a pre-employment background and drug test
