Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Three or more years of overall experience

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in health-related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s degree Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a preceptor to new staff
  • Complex appointment, procedure and surgery scheduling requiring strong knowledge of procedures and department protocols
  • Interprofessional collaboration with physicians, APPs, RNs, and other department staff in their designated program
  • Complex care coordination: procedure/surgical add-ons, admissions, multi-disciplinary procedure/surgical clearances, inpatient transfers, blood bank
  • Coordinates and facilitates authorization process - informs patient’s authorization and collects payment for new and returning patients, using the scheduling system
  • Ability to research and interpret relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards
  • Coordinates care by scheduling, editing and maintaining routine patient physician appointments for new and returning patients
