About The Position

The Level I Licensing Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of all PSF Licensing Specialists who license and support licensed Level I families. This position reports to the Director of Foster Care Licensing & Retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field or equivalent
  • three (3) years of relevant experience in child welfare; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification as a Child Protection Professional.
  • Possession of a valid, State of Florida driver’s license to operate the motor vehicle operated. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides needed support in the evaluation of suitability of licensed and non-relative placement.
  • Assists with the license and re-license of Level I homes.
  • Maintains assignment trackers, background trackers, and licensing renewal tracker.
  • Assists in crisis intervention to level one caregivers as necessary.
  • Oversees staff on home visits for certification.
  • Manages Licensing Specialists in such endeavors as needs assessment, monitoring in accordance with agency policies, priorities, and accreditation standards.
  • Ensures compliance with Level I licensure Policy and Procedure and State and Federal laws.
  • Assists with the identification of staff training needs. Provides and/or arranges training for new and existing staff on a regular basis.
  • Provides guidance to Licensing Specialist by coaching, motivating, training, and providing other development activities.
  • Develops training and staff development plans with each staff member.
  • Reviews and monitors case files for both internal and external quality assurance standards.
  • Reviews and ensures staff complete all documentation and reports in a professional and timely manner.
  • Prepares and conducts staff performance evaluations, including progressive discipline when appropriate.
  • Provides direct casework in the absence of Licensing Specialist.
  • Participates in the quality improvement process.
  • Remains current in changes in level one laws and makes appropriate program changes as necessary.
  • Provides documentation to the Licensing Retention Manager in matters of hiring and discipline but lacks the ability to unilaterally hire and terminate.
  • Provides staff training and community outreach as requested or required.
  • Displays understanding of, and sensitivity to, service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
