This specific job is for a Professional Level 3-Commissioned Officer to staff School Resource Officer (SRO) positions on a school campus.

Requirements

Must be Professional
Must hold a current Level III (not Level 2) license issued from TX DPS PSB (pocket guard card in hand)
Must have a valid driver's license
High School degree or equivalent
Reliable transportation and working phone
Ability to safely handle/operate your firearm
Ability to handle physical workload
Strong attention to detail
Work independently and possess good work ethics
Able to pass a physical fitness assessment
Must be capable of passing a background check
21 years of age
U.S. Citizen
No FELONY convictions within the last ten (10) years
No Class A MISDEMEANOR convictions within the last five (5) years
No Class B MISDEMEANOR convictions within the last two (2) years
No family violence convictions
Cannot currently be on deferred adjudication for any FELONY, Class A or Class B MISDEMEANOR or have any open cases
Must have OWN DUTY GEAR/ FIREARM (Service type weapons with service calibers i.e.- Glock; Sig Saur; H&K; Smith & Wesson M&P; 9mm; .40 cal; .45 ACP; etc.)
Must have, be able to obtain, and be able to: Level 3 retention holster, Duty Belt, OD Green Tactical Pants
Clean-cut/ good physical health
Possess quality grammar skills (Speaking/Writing)
Must demonstrate the ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues that arise in the area of responsibility
Must be able to effectively communicate with school staff, students, families, and law enforcement professionals
Extensive communication (verbal and written) is required
Requires the use of sound judgment

Nice To Haves

Prior or current Military/Law Enforcement experience
Exceptional display of duty weapon manipulation and accuracy
