We're looking for an intern to join our Legal team! In this role, you'll support the commercial and regulatory legal functions across a variety of high-impact projects. Working within the legal organization at Avant, you'll be working cross-functionally with Commercial, Compliance, Product, and Operations to help build efficient legal processes and support the delivery of innovative financial products.

Requirements

• You are a law student (rising 2L or 3L) with a strong academic record
• You have an interest in AI and its applications in legal operations
• You enjoy working with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and improve processes
• You are detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
• You are eager to learn and contribute to a fast-paced, innovative legal team

Nice To Haves

• Experience or coursework in commercial contracts or financial products and services is a plus

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial reviews of vendor agreements against company standards and assist in drafting standardized contract language
• Support rule change management by identifying, researching, and drafting summaries of new and modified regulations
• Conduct and summarize legal research in support of product and change management
• Build consumer litigation case files and materials and track pending cases
• Assist in the modernization of legal operations, including optimizing configuration of the company's legal AI tool to streamline data extraction and contribute to “playbook” development.
• Support legal tech implementation by designing and organizing digital contract vaults and litigation trackers
