About The Position

We’re hiring an experienced Legal Secretary to support our Native American Law and Education and Governance practices in our Downtown San Diego office. You’ll provide high-level administrative and practice support to attorneys handling complex transactional matters, with a focus on Real Estate, Native American Law, Education (charter schools), and Governance. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of experience supporting attorneys in transactional, real estate, education, governance, or similarly complex practice areas and are confident handling: Drafting, formatting, proofreading, and preparing transactional documents, correspondence, agreements, resolutions, corporate and governance documents, and memoranda. Assisting with the assembly, execution, and distribution of deal documents, including signature packets and closing binders Supporting real estate transactions, leasing matters, and related closings Managing complex attorney calendars, coordinating meetings with clients, school administrators, board members, tribal representatives, and outside parties Coordinating communications with tribal governments, charter schools, education stakeholders, and other public or quasi-public entities Organizing due diligence materials, tracking deadlines and project timelines, and maintaining electronic and physical matter files Preparing and processing expense reports, check requests, and other administrative tasks Supporting multiple attorneys in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and organization Assisting with document management related to governance matters, board actions, policies, compliance materials, and education-related regulatory issues Assisting with travel arrangements, meeting preparation, and client logistics as needed Prior experience supporting attorneys in transactional, Real Estate, Native American Law, Education, Governance, or Public-Sector related practices is strongly preferred. Experience with litigation, charter schools or education matters is a plus, but not required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting attorneys in transactional, real estate, education, governance, or similarly complex practice areas

  • Prior experience supporting attorneys in transactional, Real Estate, Native American Law, Education, Governance, or Public-Sector related practices is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with litigation, charter schools or education matters is a plus, but not required.
