About The Position

At IDEXX, we help pets and people live longer, healthier lives. Our Legal team plays a critical role in enabling that mission by partnering closely with the business to manage risk, support innovation, and uphold our values. IDEXX is seeking two first‑year law students (1L) to join our Legal team as a Summer Intern. This paid internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands‑on exposure to in‑house legal practice. What You Will Do As a Legal Summer Intern, you will work alongside IDEXX attorneys and legal professionals on real business matters and gain exposure across a range of legal disciplines, which may include: Commercial & Corporate: Supporting contract review, negotiation support, and corporate governance matters Compliance & Regulatory: Assisting with research and analysis related to regulatory obligations and internal policies Intellectual Property: Gaining exposure to trademark, copyright, and innovation‑related legal issues Employment & Labor: Supporting research and documentation related to employment law and workplace matters Litigation & Risk: Assisting with document review, research, and case support activities Across these areas, you may: Conduct legal research and prepare clear, concise summaries Review and organize contracts, policies, and other legal materials Collaborate with attorneys and business partners on discrete projects Participate in meetings and observe how in‑house counsel advise a global business The internship is designed to provide substantive legal experience in a collaborative, professional environment.

Requirements

  • Current first-year law students (1L) in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Professional judgment, attention to detail, and discretion
  • Interest in corporate or in‑house legal practice
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
