About The Position

The Legal Intern will support the Legal/Risk team by assisting attorneys with case review, document organization, and Discovery-related tasks, gaining hands-on experience supporting real legal work in a professional setting. The intern may also contribute to activities related to an upcoming software conversion, including data organization, system testing, and process documentation, while gaining insight into organizational processes related to Discovery and systems implementation. This role provides valuable exposure to case management, document review, and legal operations within a fast-paced professional environment, along with mentorship and guidance from experienced attorneys.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time accredited undergraduate program at a public or private College/University, and be in good academic standing at their institution
  • Interest in law, policy, compliance, or related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new software tools.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident
  • Must be committed to completing the duration of the internship from June 2026 - August 2026
  • Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship

  • Familiarity with document management systems is a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Case Review & Research Assist attorneys in reviewing case files and summarizing key facts and timelines.
  • Conduct basic legal or factual research under attorney supervision.
  • Prepare draft case notes, issue summaries, and supporting documentation.
  • Document & Information Organization Organize, catalog, and maintain digital and physical case documents.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of case-related information.
  • Assist with creating or updating internal reference materials and tracking systems.
  • Discovery Support Help gather, label, and organize documents relevant to Discovery requests.
  • Assist in reviewing documents for relevance, privilege, or categorization (as directed).
  • Support the preparation of Discovery responses and document productions.
  • Software Conversion Assistance Help prepare files, data, or workflows transitioning into the new system.
  • Participate in testing new software features and documenting results.
  • Contribute to user guides or training materials as needed.
