As a Cheesecake Summer Associate Intern, you’ll play an important role in supporting our Legal team by contributing to meaningful projects and hands-on responsibilities that align with your future career goals. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to how a Legal department operates within a dynamic and collaborative business environment. Reporting to the Manager, Legal Services, you will work with a legal department team of 7 in-house lawyers and 9 paralegal and support team members, located in Calabasas Hills, CA, supporting the Legal function for a global $3.6 billion publicly traded company with over 350 full-service restaurants and more than 47,500 staff members. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution.
  • Completed a minimum of 1 year of law school.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Available to work from the Support Center at least 3 days per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Responsibilities

  • Support litigation matters and agency claims by conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, reviewing case documents, and assisting with case management.
  • Assist with corporate governance and compliance by preparing corporate filings, maintaining company records, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to data privacy and security initiatives by researching applicable laws, assisting with policy updates, and supporting compliance efforts related to data protection regulations.
  • Provide support on real estate and development matters and conducting legal due diligence.
  • Assist with intellectual property matters by conducting trademark searches, monitoring filings, and supporting the drafting and review of related legal documents.
