About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in contract and agreement work, including leases, within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in real estate, finance, and contract law, coupled with excellent research, organizational, and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of contract law, real estate law, and basic principles of the mortgage industry.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
  • Real Estate and/or Mortgage lending rules.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited law school with 2-3 years of completed legal education.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts, agreements, and leases to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local regulations affecting the mortgage and real estate industries.
  • Support the legal team in analyzing and summarizing legal documents, including lease agreements, vendor contracts, and other transactional documents.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Compliance, Operations, and Accounting, to address legal inquiries and provide guidance on contractual matters.
  • Monitor contract execution processes and ensure timely follow-up with internal and external partners.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating potential legal risks.
  • Stay up to date with changes in laws and regulations impacting the mortgage industry.
  • Other assignments as needed.
