About The Position

Legal Intern - Spring Semester Internship (Start Date ASAP) About the Role Validity’s legal team is looking for an enrolled law school student looking to gain SaaS industry experience to assist our legal team in its mission to support our sales and account teams and other key stakeholders. Our teams are charged with selling platform-based services globally to customers of all sizes. As a legal intern supporting Validity’s legal team, you'll assist with administrating, reviewing, and drafting contracts with a wide variety of counterparties around the world. You'll also work closely with finance and sales operations partners daily, and develop and execute legal projects (such as integrating legal tools) as required by our internal customers. Team Dynamic We are looking for a candidate who has a strong research background and has the ability to meet daily (sometimes changing) deadlines as the business dictates. This position will provide insight on how in-house counsel may operate within a SaaS company.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited law school - preferably a second or third year student (with a desire to enter the SaaS industry).
• Knowledge of agreements - you know what each clause does, what each party cares about most, and general technological terminology.
• Team spirit and well-developed service ethic - you are driven to be an excellent teammate to your legal colleagues, to provide outstanding service to internal and external clients, and to meet deadlines and provide solutions without alienating stakeholders.
• Ability to report in-office (to permit the best development of skills while at Validity).

Nice To Haves

• Interest in or familiarity with technology or the technology industry, especially AI.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review agreements with SaaS customers, business development partners, and other parties.
• Assist with privacy efforts internally.
• Assist with the building of legal technology tools.
• Daily case administration and assistance with the legal department’s case docket.
• Develop legal skills and education and stay informed about relevant developments in the legal, privacy, and SaaS industries.
