We are hiring a Summer Legal Intern to work out of our corporate headquarters office in Hopkins, MN. We're looking for an enthusiastic, driven law student who has an interest in learning more about working in an in-house corporate legal department, with a focus on the food & beverage/consumer packaged goods industries.

Requirements

  • Education: Current law students who have completed their 2L year at an accredited ABA law school.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to spot legal issues, synthesize facts, and provide clear analysis on a variety of research topics
  • Excellent time management skills including prioritizing, tracking details, and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates
  • Interest in business law, intellectual property law, employment law, regulatory work, and general corporate law.

Responsibilities

  • Review and draft a variety of commercial agreements, including NDAs, Statements of Work, Termination Notices, and Service Agreements.
  • Review social media posts and sweepstakes rules and advise the business units on risks.
  • Review marketing materials and claims and advise business units on risks.
  • Assist with corporate governance matters like updating manuals and policies, drafting resolutions, and assisting with state filings.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating contract templates.
  • Research issues related to advertising/marketing, employment law, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory issues, and other matters as needed.
  • Assist with discovery and provide litigation support.
  • Attend meetings with various business units.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
