About The Position
Westmoreland Mining LLC is seeking a Legal Extern through the University of Denver Sturm School of Law's CORE ELMS program for the Fall 2024 Semester. This externship offers educational credit for hours worked, with a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week, across at least two days per week, at our Lone Tree Offices (10375 Park Meadows Drive).
Requirements
- Must be at least a 2L (second-year law student)
- Must be registered in the University of Denver Sturm School of Law's CORE ELMS program by the August 9 deadline
- Minimum requirement of 20 hours per week
- Work across at least two days per week
Responsibilities
- Engage in legal review, research, and drafting related to natural resources and environmental law in the mining industry
- Perform contract review
- Conduct litigation research and preparation
- Work on public policy matters
- Handle communications within Westmoreland's legal department
- Address other matters within Westmoreland's legal department, particularly those involving External and Regulatory Affairs
