As a Legal Engineer, you'll help GitLab's Legal & Corporate Affairs team to translate between what the legal team needs and what systems can do, between how our team members think about problems and how engineers think about logic, between a manual workflow that's slowing the business down and an automated one that isn't. You'll own technical components of the LACA stack, build the AI-powered workflows and integrations that enable us to scale, and bring enough legal process knowledge to design solutions that enable better outcomes for our customers. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Strategy & Legal Operations, you'll work across legal, business, and technical teams to design and maintain tools for contract workflows, compliance automation, legal analytics, and system integrations. This is a strong fit if you're excited by translating legal requirements into practical systems and improving how work gets done. In your first year, you'll focus on building AI-enabled workflows, integrating and implementing new systems, and creating better visibility into legal operations through data, reporting, and automation. You'll also help bring AI-powered capabilities into legal processes, including contract review and decision support within tools such as Ironclad CLM and related platforms.
