About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Legal Counsel. In this role, you will serve as the sole in-house attorney, providing comprehensive legal support across various commercial functions. You'll engage directly with company leadership, taking ownership of critical legal processes while collaborating with external counsel on more complex issues. This position offers significant growth opportunities as you shape the legal framework of the organization and influence its operations. With a focus on compliance and efficiency, you'll be instrumental in managing the legal aspects of the company's agreements and intellectual properties.

Requirements

6-10 years of experience as a transactional attorney with a focus on commercial contracts.
Licensed to practice law in New York or ability to become licensed.
Familiarity with technology/SaaS agreements and data privacy laws preferred.
Strong business judgment and ability to manage legal risks in a dynamic environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Outstanding communication skills for effective interaction with legal and non-legal stakeholders.
Experience in a startup or fast-paced work environment preferred.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of advertising platform terms and programmatic advertising frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage and negotiate key commercial agreements, including customer contracts and vendor agreements.
Review customer contracts and RFP responses to support the sales team.
Create and update contract templates and clause libraries for enhanced efficiency.
Handle intellectual property matters, including licensing agreements and managing third-party IP.
Oversee cap table management and equity administration.
Collaborate on privacy compliance and advertising regulations across teams.
Coordinate with external counsel on complex legal matters.
