About The Position

The Legal Coordinator I – Employment & Litigation supports the Employment & Litigation team with administrative functions. This position interacts with individuals at all levels of the business, Sprouts outside legal counsel and staff, and representatives of government agencies, claimants, and their counsel bringing claims against the Company.

Requirements

  • Ability to utilize appropriate discretion and judgment in dispensing information
  • Ability to keep matters confidential
  • Strong work ethic and team player mentality
  • Ability to multi-task, triage priorities, and manage time efficiently to consistently meet aggressive and time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proactive, highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • At least a year of experience as a legal assistant, or a year’s worth of experience completing admin tasks with a retail employer or grocery store will suffice

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the investigation and collection of information and documents related to claim analysis, requests for information, requests for production, subpoenas, and other discovery
  • Help to maintain matter management systems
  • Track and update case lists and related status reports
  • Manage litigation-related deadlines and calendars
  • Arrange client interviews
  • Support outside counsel invoicing and payment process
  • Draft correspondence
  • Issue and track litigation hold notices
  • Issue and track tenders of defense and indemnification to suppliers and other third parties
  • Support and monitor response to subpoenas and other record requests
  • Participate in and contribute to team meetings and special projects
  • Interact effectively and efficiently with the Company’s external counsel and any opposing parties as needed
  • Communicate and effectively partner with internal departments and senior leaders, and represent the team in a helpful and professional manner
  • Complete work assignments and tasks in corporate office at least three days a week to support development of trust, positive communication, team cohesiveness, collaboration, and innovation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
