About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a leading national surgical physician group servicing nursing homes for wound care, is looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team and support our growing organization! This role will handle SWC’s documentation, legal transactions, partnerships, policies and projects. Your principal goal will be to ensure that all of SWC’s documents (external and internal) are in place in an organized and accessible manner both in paper and electronic forms. Other duties will include helping SWC avoid any possible legal risks, following-up with appropriate personnel to ensure accuracy of documents, understand legal issues with contracts and documents, and be the single-point-of-contact for all documents and processes related to contracts. A successful candidate will have outstanding organization and communication skills, with sharp attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience as a legal assistant.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and devise constructive solutions and strategies.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, FileMaker, and DocuSign.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, with accurate input and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and commitment to professionalism
  • Authorized to work in the United States without any restrictions.
  • This position is 100% on site and will require you to commute to our office location in Playa Vista, CA every day (Mondays-Fridays)

Responsibilities

  • Manage all contracts, legal reports and documents.
  • Draft agreements with facilities, providers, employees, and any other partners.
  • Prepare nondisclosure agreements, statements of work and amendments.
  • Coordinate compliance on security and privacy issues.
  • Oversee each stage of the contract process with a focus on proactive communication with all parties, and management of the process to ensure timely and accurate contract execution.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, company policies and procedures.
  • Track and report on the status of agreements.
  • Respond to inquiries; raise and escalate legal issues as necessary and negotiate deal points with vendors and consultants.
  • Track and carry out agreement termination process, as needed.
  • Liaise with outside lawyers hired to assist the corporation with their specialized legal services.
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Be SWC’s point of contact for malpractice insurer and their partners.
  • Coordinate depositions.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
