This is a virtual position, and we are seeking a candidate with Texas Civil Litigation experience to join our team. The role involves performing legal and secretarial tasks for assigned attorney(s), with supervision and oversight from their leader.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years experience in civil litigation as a legal administration clerk, secretary, or legal assistant required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains schedules and calendar for assigned attorney(s).
  • Composes a variety of correspondence, pleadings and various legal forms.
  • Coordinates time and location of multi-party appearances, including depositions, arbitrations, mediations, Independent Medical Exams (IME’s) meetings and site inspections.
  • Answers telephone calls, emails and handles client inquiries.
  • Receives and processes incoming mail.
  • Contacts clients, witnesses, court reporters, interpreters, claims personnel, and others to confirm scheduled appearances as instructed by assigned attorney(s).
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge and keeps up-to-date with court rules and legal deadlines.
