About The Position

We are looking for legal assistants with litigation experience in to work in a busy, downtown firm. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of legal secretary/assistant experience, have exposure to different kinds of law and be enthusiastic about the chance to grow with a talented and successful team!

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. College degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of litigation secretarial experience in a law firm environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of legal practices, terminology, documents, and court procedures.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively in a business environment.
  • Excellent typing, spelling, grammar, proofreading, transcription, and general clerical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performance of complex administrative legal duties.
  • Ensure group of attorneys are operating as efficiently and effectively as possible using various technological resources.
  • Identify most efficient and effective manner to complete tasks.
  • Prepare documents by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, etc.
  • Knowledge of the legal processes
  • Prepare and coordinate e-filings
  • General office/clerical duties
  • Ensure that documents are saved and filed
  • Maintain the daily calendar of each attorney including, but not limited to, scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Provide support to the attorneys with timesheets and regular billing matters.
  • Maintain a good working rapport with clients which requires discretion and judgment.
