About The Position

Genova Burns LLC, a mid-sized law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Assistant for its Newark, NJ office. Primary Responsibilities Drafting and formatting briefs, pleadings, correspondence and other legal documents Preparation of Table of Authorities and Table of Contents Preparation of and assistance with document productions Filing/e-filing of legal documents with state and federal courts Regularly and accurately proofreads all documents to ensure accuracy and completeness Updating and maintaining client files Electronic filing of all client-related documents Maintaining attorney calendars through Outlook (i.e. scheduling appointments, calendaring due dates, etc.) Accurately enters, reviews and revises attorney time Providing full administrative support to assigned attorneys Personal Attributes Possesses a strong understanding and abides by the policies and procedures of the firm Maintains an exceptional customer service attitude and demeanor at all times Flexible and willing to pitch in wherever needed Demonstrates a positive attitude Adapts well to fluctuations in workload and changes in responsibilities Maintains a professional demeanor in high-stress situations Presents written and verbal communications that are concise and accurate Contributes to an atmosphere of teamwork and congeniality

Requirements

  • Knowledge of document management systems, preferably iManage
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook PowerPoint, Excel and Acrobat Adobe
  • Team player
  • Communication: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a legal secretary required
