About The Position

The Center for Life Sciences Education (CLSE) within the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks to fill an open semester Lecturer position. The CLSE is home to the largest major within the College of Arts & Sciences with 2,400+ majors. The new lecturer will join a diverse and interdisciplinary community on the main campus in Columbus, Ohio. This position will begin Autumn 2024. This position is open to individuals with a background in a Biological and/or related Life Science area. This position will be expected to teach one or more lecture and/or lab based, or related recitation, courses that include, but are not limited to, Biology 1101, 1110, 1113, 1114, and 3501. The individual will be expected to lead course discussions, assist with overseeing teaching lab experiments, hold office hours, and complete related grading and other course related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Biology or a related life science discipline.
  • Candidates must have strong commitment to teaching at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong communication and public speaking skills are desired

Responsibilities

  • Teach one or more lecture and/or lab based, or related recitation, courses that include, but are not limited to, Biology 1101, 1110, 1113, 1114, and 3501.
  • Lead course discussions
  • Assist with overseeing teaching lab experiments
  • Hold office hours
  • Complete related grading and other course related tasks as assigned.
