The Department of Engineering Education (https://eed.osu.edu) at The Ohio State University is accepting applications from candidates of all engineering backgrounds for a full-time Lecturer appointment to teach first-year engineering courses in the Department of Engineering Education. Candidates with significant prior teaching experience can request consideration for appointment at the level of Senior Lecturer. The appointment would begin in August 2026 for the 2026-27 academic year, continuing in future years based upon performance and enrollment. All engineering students complete a two-course Engineering Foundations sequence that combines lecture-based instruction with hands-on lab experiences. The courses cover content including problem solving and the engineering design process. The courses also include the use of computer tools such as Excel, MATLAB, C/C++ (Honors only), and solid modeling software. In the labs, students collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, and each sequence culminates with a design-build-test project to solve a real-world problem. Developing teamwork and communication skills is an essential part of these courses. All courses are taught in person on the University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio. The Ohio State University will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
