About The Position

We are seeking candidates with a strong record of teaching excellence, demonstrated through impactful learning experiences, student engagement, and pedagogical innovation. The ideal candidate will integrate new methods, technologies, and experiential opportunities that prepare students for the evolving sport industry. Candidates should have proven experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate students, and a demonstrated commitment to service at the department, college, and professional levels. We value educators who can adapt to varied learning environments, foster critical thinking, and create student-centered classrooms that strengthen our programs. A doctorate in sport management or a related discipline is required by the start date. Candidates should be passionate about student learning and have experience in developing new courses, teaching in face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online formats, as well as integrating experiential learning into the curriculum. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in core areas of the sport management curriculum, such as marketing, finance, sociology, and law, along with experience supervising internships and capstone projects. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in areas including ethical issues in sport, sport sociology, sport marketing, sport sponsorship, sport business and finance, event and facility management, esports, sport law, and sport analytics. The Department of Sport Management is committed to excellence and impact through (a) innovative, socially impactful research; (b) the preparation and training of future industry and academic professionals; (c) engaging with the community, and (d) being stewards of the future. The department comprises eight instructional and eight tenured or tenure-track faculty members, who are supported by award-winning advisory and administrative staff. Across residential and online programs, SPM reaches more than 900 students (Approximately 550 undergraduates, 320 master’s students, and 15 doctoral students). The Sport Management online program was one of the first in the country and is a thriving part of the department. Requirements
