About The Position

The Department of Leadership, Organization, and Community Impact is seeking to fill a 9-month, non-tenure earning, Instructor - Sport Management position in the Department of Leadership, Organization, and Community Impact (LOCI). The successful candidate will contribute to the Sport Management program through excellence in teaching, mentorship, and community engagement. Primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of undergraduate sport management courses, overseeing practicum and internship experiences, and providing service to the program, college, university, and broader sport community. Instructors at UNF are eligible for promotion through established pathways, progressing from Instructor to Associate Instructor and University-level Instructor.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Sport Management with expertise to teach courses across the undergraduate curriculum.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or other terminal degrees in Sport Management or a closely related discipline.
  • Ability to teach a wide variety of courses within the Sport Management curriculum.
  • Experience supervising internships, practicums, or field experiences.
  • Five years of relevant professional industry experience in the sport industry.
  • Strong professional network within the sport industry.
  • Evidence of curricular innovation and commitment to high-impact practices with an emphasis on experiential learning.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four (4) undergraduate or graduate courses per semester across diverse areas of sport management (e.g., sport law, contemporary issues in sport, facility and event management, data analytics, finance, communications, etc.).
  • Mentor and advise students to support academic and professional success.
  • Supervise fieldwork, practicum, and internship experiences.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with the sport industry to enhance student learning, internship opportunities, and workforce readiness.
  • Provide service to the program, college, university, and broader sport community.
