About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a full-time Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Assistant Professor-in-Residence of Accounting, Lee Business School [R0150611]. The anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. ROLE of the POSITION The Department of Accounting in the Lee Business School (LEE) invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Assistant Professor-in-Residence position in Accounting. Although all areas of expertise will be considered, preference is given for teaching experience or professional expertise related to financial accounting, managerial accounting, information systems and data analytics, and auditing or internal auditing. The standard teaching load for a non-tenure track position is four courses (12 credits) per semester. The position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, with the possibility of teaching in both on-campus and online modalities, in support of the Department of Accounting and Lee Business School degree programs. Additional responsibilities may include advising students, engaging in service activities, and interfacing with the business community. PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT The Department of Accounting is supplementally accredited by the AACSB and is one of 33 U.S. universities to be endorsed by the Institute of Internal Auditors. The department has 17 full-time faculty members and offers both BSBA and MSA degrees in accounting. Approximately 175 BSBA and 75 MSA students graduate from UNLV’s accounting programs each year. UNLV’s accounting faculty members strive to be excellent teachers who are engaged with the accounting professional and academic communities. PROFILE of the COLLEGE The Lee Business School is one of the largest schools at UNLV, with approximately 3,500 undergraduate students, 500 graduate students, more than 140 faculty and staff, and more than 25,000 alumni. Lee Business School offers 10 undergraduate majors, 12 minors, and seven graduate degree programs. The MBA program has ranked in the top 100 part-time MBA programs for the past five years according to U.S. News and World Report. Requirements

This position requires a graduate degree (e.g., MS, MSA, MBA, MAcc) from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and an AACSB-accredited business school, with an undergraduate degree in accounting or closely related business field. Those without an undergraduate degree in accounting should have a graduate degree in accounting.
Candidates are required to have a minimum of five years of relevant accounting work experience and qualifications consistent with classification as an Instructional Practitioner (IP) within Lee Business School Faculty Qualification guidelines.
Only a candidate with a terminal business degree (i.e., Ph.D.) may be eligible for the title of Assistant Professor-in-Residence. Doctoral candidates with an “all but dissertation” (ABD) status are encouraged to apply; however, if selected for this position, an ABD candidate would need to successfully complete their dissertation prior to the start date in order to be appointed as an Assistant Professor-in-Residence.

The selected candidate must be eligible to legally work in the United States as of the start date.
