The Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies in the College of Arts & Letters at San Diego State University is accepting applications for their part-time lecturer pool. We welcome applications from prospective temporary faculty with expertise or experience in teaching courses in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. The Department offers a variety of courses within the field and is seeking lecturers especially for our commonly offered classes: WMNST 101: Gender, Self, Identity & Society WMNST 102: Women: Images and Ideas WMNST 103: Women and Global Justice WMNST 336: Women of Color in the US WMNST 341A: Women in American History: From Colonization to 1860 WMNST 341B: Women in American History: From 1860 to the Present WMNST 352: Women in Literature WMNST 360: Women’s Sexuality and the Body WMNST 370: Women Law and Policy WMNST 382: Gender, Science, and Technology Temporary appointments may be either full- or part-time. Appointments from the part-time pool are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available on very short notice. The Fall term begins mid-August and end late-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, to be renewed contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continuing availability of work.
