About The Position

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Microbiology in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Requirements

  • An earned Master's or Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Biology, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • Must have taken upper level coursework, preferably graduate coursework, in the field of microbiology.

Nice To Haves

  • A record of exemplary teaching at the university level as evidenced by student and peer evaluations.
  • Experience with course development and active learning strategies
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.

Responsibilities

  • This position will be primarily responsible for teaching an introductory microbiology course (BIOL 2260) and its laboratory (BIOL 2260L). A secondary teaching focus will be the undergraduate introductory biology lecture and lab courses (BIOL 1107 and 1107L).
  • Other teaching responsibilities may include other undergraduate biology courses as needed by the department.
  • Participation in professional service within the Department, the College of Science and Mathematics, the University, and beyond is expected.
  • This position will provide learning opportunities and practices that nurture growth and respect for all voices in our extensive student population.
  • Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
