About The Position

The Department of English at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure-track, Lecturer II/Teaching Assistant Professor with a specialization in rhetoric and writing studies. The department is hiring three of these positions. The faculty in these positions will also serve as Concurrent Enrollment Coordinators, working with a tenure-track faculty member to administer the department’s English Collegiate Academy program. Collegiate Academy is a dual credit program offering high school students the opportunity to earn college credit. The applicant who fills this position will be responsible for facilitating monthly professional development meetings with teachers; leading weekly meetings with TAs and their partnering teachers; participating in biweekly meetings with instructors; meeting weekly with the program director; communicating with teachers, TAs, and instructors; updating program materials; and helping plan and run TA orientation during the summer. They will also teach one regular UNR course each semester in English’s Core Writing program or in accordance with their interests and departmental needs. Requirements

  • Lecturer II - M.A. in English or a related field in hand by July 1, 2026.
  • Teaching Assistant Professor - PhD in English or a related field in hand by July 1, 2026.
  • Demonstrated excellence, or clear evidence of potential for excellence, in teaching writing at the college level
  • Experience in university writing program administration
