About The Position

The Department of Literature and Languages is seeking faculty for a full-time Lecturer position in English composition. This is a non-tenure-track position that will begin in Spring 2026. The selected candidate will teach five courses, chiefly in lower-level composition, each semester, with the opportunity to teach upper-division undergraduate courses when available. The ideal candidate will practice an innovative and student-centered writing pedagogy. Candidates should have experience teaching developmental and other writing courses at post-secondary institutions, including experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid/blended, and online modalities; working with multilingual learners. The Lecturer in English composition is responsible for teaching undergraduate-level courses; advising students as appropriate; working closely with program and departmental administration; and providing service to the department, college, and university. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely-related field.
  • Demonstrate experience of successful teaching in English composition courses at the college level.
  • Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team.
