About The Position

The Department of Literature and Languages is seeking faculty for a full-time Lecturer position in English composition. This is a non-tenure-track position that will begin in Spring 2026. The selected candidate will teach five courses, chiefly in lower-level composition, each semester, with the opportunity to teach upper-division undergraduate courses when available. The ideal candidate will practice an innovative and student-centered writing pedagogy. Candidates should have experience teaching developmental and other writing courses at post-secondary institutions, including experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid/blended, and online modalities; working with multilingual learners. The Lecturer in English composition is responsible for teaching undergraduate-level courses; advising students as appropriate; working closely with program and departmental administration; and providing service to the department, college, and university. Requirements

Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely-related field.
Demonstrate experience of successful teaching in English composition courses at the college level.
Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Teaches undergraduate-level English courses
Works closely with program and departmental administration
Advises students
Prepares syllabi
Updates course materials
Participates in curriculum development and assessment
Delivers instruction both online and on any of the university campuses.
Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs
Provides service to the department, college, and university
Maintains knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning with research, best practices in teaching, and technological applications in the classroom, including online teaching.
