About The Position

The University of Maine at Farmington - the historic birthplace of teacher education in Maine - invites applications for Lecturers in the Master's in Educational Leadership with a concentration in School Administration for Academic Year 2025-2026 (summer) and Academic Year 2026-2027 (fall and spring). UMF is seeking experienced school administrators to serve as instructors for the next generation of Maine's K-12 school leaders. This concentration and Graduate Certificate Administration is designed for practicing educators who are ready to take the next step in their careers. Instructors help to provide the knowledge and skills needed to pursue leadership opportunities in school administration, preparing participants to guide and support educational communities effectively. UMF serves a diverse population of traditional and non-traditional students across a range of liberal arts and professional programs. To meet the needs of these learners, the University delivers general education and degree-specific coursework through a variety of modalities, including but not limited to: face-to-face, synchronous, and asynchronous instruction.

Requirements

  • Education: Master's Degree in Education or a closely related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of formal leadership experience in a public school setting.
  • Academic Preparation: Demonstrated academic background adequate for the courses to be taught.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching Experience: At least two years of online or hybrid teaching experience at the college level.
  • Licensing: Licensed in Maine as a Building Administrator or Superintendent (Endorsement 040).

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Design and maintain syllabi aligned with departmental expectation and established course blueprints.
  • Instructional Delivery: Lead lesson planning and facilitate instruction via the Brightspace LMS or other instructional software.
  • Student Support: Maintain regular correspondence, hold office hours, and provide timely grading and feedback.
  • Professional Collaboration: Attend course coordination meetings with the Associate Deann of Graduate Education and complete required orientations and trainings.
