College of Business Administration

Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration, including the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) — a distinction earned by only 6% of business schools worldwide. Notably, the college, along with three other CSU campuses, holds a separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program, placing it among the elite 3% of institutions globally with both business and accounting accreditations. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best undergraduate business programs, the college offers eight undergraduate options as part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. In 2022, the Singelyn Graduate School of Business was established through a transformative gift from alumni David and Ruth Singelyn. Today, the graduate school offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and several specialized master’s programs. Accounting Department

The Position

The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available.  We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the following subject areas:

Financial Accounting
Managerial Accounting
Advanced Accounting

Accounting Information Systems and Analytics
Taxation
Government and Not-For-Profit Accounting

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Accounting, MBA with Accounting concentration, or a related discipline in the accounting field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
• An active CPA, CMA, CIA, or CFE license, and
• Relevant professional experience.

Nice To Haves

• A Ph.D. in Accounting or related discipline
• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching.
• Relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
• Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.
