About The Position

The Leasing Specialist is responsible for assisting in the sales and marketing strategy for the leasing department to ensure maximum occupancy of the community. This role involves providing high-quality customer service to residents, focusing on selling the community to prospective residents, and understanding its critical impact on the property's reputation. The specific property, The Beacon, is a unique housing community with 180 units and 576 beds, designed for Auburn University students.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, and/or one or more years of progressive experience in student housing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possess strong administrative, organization, and communication skills.
  • Be a self-motivated individual and excel at working in a team environment.
  • Understand standards of property management including Fair Housing laws, Tenant/Landlord rights, and general real estate principles.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Entrata software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service during each encounter with residents, prospects, vendors, officials, and community members.
  • Participate and assist with the execution and development of marketing efforts on campus and in the community, customer appreciation events, and other special events.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, drop-ins, and email inquiries professionally and handle them accordingly.
  • Act as a lead salesperson when the Leasing Manager is offsite by conducting all tours, responding to leasing inquiries, and completing follow-ups with the prospective residents.
  • Be an expert on current market conditions, trends, and local competitors.
  • Monitor community, clubhouse, amenities, and other common areas for superior curb appeal, general cleanliness, and organization.
  • Assist the Leasing Manager with posting updates and communication through social media.
