The Leasing Assistant will play a crucial role in the property management team, focusing on conducting leasing activities in compliance with company policies and various legal regulations, including Fair Housing, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Rent Stabilization laws applicable in New York City. This position requires a candidate who is not only detail-oriented but also possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with current residents and prospective tenants. The Leasing Assistant will be responsible for delivering superior customer service, ensuring that all leasing requests are handled promptly and professionally. In addition to customer service, the Leasing Assistant will manage various leasing activities, which include processing rental applications, preparing move-in documents, and ensuring the accuracy of billing for new residents. Familiarity with regulations and government agencies such as Section 8, SCRIE, and DRIE is essential for this role. The candidate must also be proficient in using various software tools, including Word, Excel, Yardi, Docusign, Teams, and Zoom, to facilitate their daily tasks and maintain organized records. The Leasing Assistant will also be tasked with coordinating move-in and move-out requests, preparing lease renewal notices, generating lease expiration reports, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of vacancies and available units.
