About The Position

The leasing consultant's primary focus is to ensure that leasing, marketing, and customer service goals are met for the property. This role is 100% customer-facing, with primary responsibilities including generating traffic, leasing units, and providing exceptional customer service to residents. The consultant will manage incoming leads using property management software, respond quickly, and follow up on schedule. They must be knowledgeable about unit availability, pricing, and property information for new prospects, striving to meet and exceed occupancy goals. Familiarity with Fair Housing Regulations is essential, and all tasks must be performed accordingly. The role also involves maintaining knowledge of the local community, participating in resident appreciation events, and fostering a sense of community. Daily tasks include preparing model units and tour paths, serving as the first point of contact for residents, resolving issues, and escalating complex customer service problems to site management. Effective communication with site management and maintenance teams is crucial for resolving noticed issues. The consultant is expected to enthusiastically embrace the company culture, provide a welcoming environment, demonstrate high standards, and ensure the best possible experience for everyone on site. This includes greeting visitors, approaching situations in a friendly and helpful manner, and maintaining a pleasant, professional, and cheerful presence while adhering to the dress code. The consultant should also strive to learn the Assistant Community Manager's role to provide coverage when needed.

Requirements

  • Basic computer knowledge including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience in social media and technology
  • Proficiency in converting phone calls to appointments and appointments to leases (Sales)
  • Ability to act independently and make decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and other unscheduled times as required
  • Customer service experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education required

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 months experience in the apartment, leasing, or hospitality industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes property management software to manage incoming leads, responds quickly, and follows up on schedule
  • Is knowledgeable regarding availability of units, pricing, and property information relevant to new prospects
  • Strives to meet and exceed occupancy goals
  • Is familiar with Fair Housing Regulations and performs all tasks accordingly
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the local community, including local schools, business, and events
  • Participates in planning and hosting resident appreciation events and constantly works to engender a sense of community among residents
  • Performs opening tasks, including checking on the readiness of the model or show units, the tour paths, and the community amenities
  • Serves as a first point of contact for residents, works to resolve any issues or complaints
  • Quickly returns missed phone calls and stays current with all follow-ups for leads and prospects
  • Quickly escalates any customer service issues to site management when support is needed
  • Communicates effectively to site management and maintenance team to resolve any noticed issues
  • Enthusiastically embraces the company culture, provides a welcoming environment for residents and guests, demonstrates our drive to maintain the highest of standards, and provides the best possible experience for everyone on site
